I had a 6 and 7 year old test it out. They loved it and made some great creations. Acrylic markers are very vibrant on cardboard and they colored all their cut outs.very pleased with the Beaver Bot!

This cardboard cutter is a highlight in our home. I have it set up with cardboard by it for easy access as my boys will grab a piece and create a project of their own daily. As a mom I do not worry with them using it as I have done all the tests and find it very safe to use. It cuts carboard like a breeze and stores the mess inside. You can also store tools under the cut plate. Our entire family loves it!

Der BeaverBot kommt in einem stabilen Karton und ist in diesem ordentlich verpackt, sodass weder etwas verloren noch kaputt gehen kann. Der Karton eignet sich im Nachgang auch zur Aufbewahrung des Geräts im Schuppen. Das Gerät kommt mit einem Steckernetzteil, welches eingesteckt wird und somit im Falle eines Defekts schnell getauscht werden kann. Weiterhin liegen noch ein paar Werkzeuge bei. Damit man gleich loslegen kann, liegt Karton mit aufgedrucktem Muster bei. Man kann eine Maske ausschneiden oder auch ein Angelspiel basteln. Kleine Angeln mit Magnet liegen auch bei. Das finde ich ganz gut, da man so gleich die erste Inspiration erhält und gleich loslegen und ausprobieren kann. Die Kinder freuten sich auch, dass sie die Fische ausmalen konnten - dies sollte sinnvollerweise vor dem Ausschneiden passieren, damit man entspannt übermalen kann.
Das Gerät selbst sieht witzig aus. Es ähnelt mehr einem Spielzeug als einem Werkzeug. Auch die kleine Abdeckung in Form eines Mini-Helms, den der Biber mit Sonnenbrille da trägt, ist ein lustiges Gimmick. Auf der Oberseite befindet sich eine Platte, die man abheben kann. Unter dieser ist dann noch ein Fach, in dem sich die Werkzeuge verwahren lassen - eine super Idee! So ist immer gleich alles dabei. An der Rückseite ist lässt sich eine Box herausziehen, in der die meisten Reste des Abknabberns landen. Diese Box rastet bei mir allerdings nicht im Gerät ein, sodass ich mich manchmal sorge, dass sie verrutscht. Wie auf dem Bild zu sehen ist, sammelt sich aber einiges an Dreck aber auch noch unter der Platte. Ich empfehle einen Staubsauger zur anschließenden Reinigung. Im Gerät sieht es mir etwas zu einfach aus. Hier hätte ich mir etwas mehr Kapselung gewünscht, aber Kinder sollten da auch nicht hineingreifen. Selbst dann passiert aufgrund der Kleinspannung aber auch nichts. Das Gerät schneidet bzw. knabbert sich leichtgängig durch Pappe, insofern sie dünn genug ist. Das Gerät schafft eine Materialstärke von 2mm. Dabei konnte ich Papier, Pappe und auch Sperrholz abknabbern lassen. 2mm Lindensperrholz ist kein Problem - siehe auch die Fotos. Bei dünnerem Material wie Papier franst der Rand leider etwas stärker aus. Bei Pappe oder Holz wird es ordentlich. Leider liegt diesem Gerät keine Führungsschiene bei, was die Arbeit, insbesondere für Kinder, noch etwas vereinfacht hätte.
Alles in allem bin ich mit dem Gerät sehr zufrieden und kann es grundsätzlich empfehlen. Allerdings empfinde ich den Preis von rund 300 € als viel zu hoch.
