Hi! I’m Lucine, the lead designer at BEAVERBOT. Since joining forces with our founder, Dr. Rem, in 2016, I've been on a mission to transform everyday materials into extraordinary learning adventures for kids.

This year, for Children’s Day, I'm thrilled to unveil our latest creation: the Carousel Pack. Let me take you behind the scenes of how this magical ride came to life.

🎨 From Fine Arts to Cardboard Castles

Before BEAVERBOT, my world revolved around sculpture, spatial installations, and even edible sensory art. My background in fine arts and childhood education constantly reminds me that making is magic—especially when it’s messy, joyful, and a little unconventional.

At BEAVERBOT, I channel that same spirit into every project we craft—not just cutting kits, but immersive stories, hands-on lessons, and moments of pure creative flow.

🎠 Why a Carousel?

When brainstorming this year’s Children’s Day project, I pondered:
What’s the most joyful ride in a theme park?

The answer was clear: The carousel.
It spins in circles but ignites infinite imagination.

It’s also perfect for STEAM learning:
📐 Teaches geometry—circles, cones, arches
🔁 Explains mechanics—how rotation works
🎨 Invites decoration—kids can transform it into a unicorn ride, space station, or even a pancake machine!

🧩 Designing the Carousel Pack: Step by Step

Let me walk you through my process as a designer, maker, and occasional chaos gremlin:

🖍️ Step 1: Sketching the Structure
I aimed for a design that was easy to build, fun to decorate, and full of motion.
It needed to feel magical yet teach something real—like how an axle functions or how symmetry keeps it spinning smoothly.

✂️ Step 2: Paper Engineering & Prototype Tests
Here’s where I unleash my inner mad scientist.
I folded, trimmed, re-folded, re-trimmed… until everything aligned. The final template is Junior Engineer-friendly yet still a clever puzzle.

🖼️ Step 3: Storytelling Through Design
Every BEAVERBOT kit is more than just a craft—it’s part of a story.
So, I collaborated with our writing team to weave in Bivy and Dr. Rem, our intergalactic theme-park heroes.

The carousel became more than a ride—it became the power source of joy in Magic Ride Land.

🎁 What’s Next?

I’m overjoyed every time I see a child add pom-poms, glitter, or feathers to their carousel. Each version is unique—just like the young engineers who built it.

Stay tuned for our upcoming Father’s Day Kit...

Until then,
Keep making,
Keep spinning,
And never stop wondering.
